Job Title: Development Manager, The WASH Foundation, an evolution of the Clean the World Foundation Classification: Full-time Reports to : Executive Director, The WASH Foundation Location: Orlando, FL Schedule: Prefer Hybrid in our Orlando, FL Corporate office. JOB PURPOSE: The Development Manager oversees The WASH Foundation's (TWF) global fundraising and development efforts under the guidance of the Executive Director. Today, the Foundation raises roughly $1 million in development revenue annually, and the goal is to increase that to $5 million annually within the next 5 years. Based at the global headquarters in Orlando, FL the position is responsible for building and managing a portfolio of donors and prospects, and personally cultivating, soliciting, and closing large financial gifts from foundations, corporations, and individual donors. The Development Manager will also represent The WASH Foundation at speaking engagements with the media, and in various committees within the Clean the World social enterprise. Reporting directly to and working closely with the Executive Director, this position will play a key role within the Foundation and will assist in leading the organization to fulfill its global mission. JOB DESCRIPTION - duties, responsibilities, accountabilities: Lead the creation and execution of a multi-year, comprehensive, and sustainable development plan designed to help achieve the targeted increases in fundraising revenue. Manage all fundraising/development activities globally, including grant writing, corporate partnerships/sponsorships, individual giving programs, and fundraising events. Build and manage a portfolio of donors and prospects, and personally cultivate, solicit, and close large financial gifts from foundation, corporate, and individual donors. Work with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors to identify and pursue major donors and prospects, and engage them as appropriate in the donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship processes. When necessary, promote the Foundation through speaking engagements, media interviews, and at community events to raise awareness of and support for the organization's work. Represent the Foundation and the Development Department throughout the entire social enterprise. Participate in Foundation team meetings and various committee meetings, as assigned. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES Must have strong and polished interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Creative, strategic, and analytical thinker with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while prioritizing tasks to meet goals and deadlines. Must be highly organized and able to work well with others. Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office and Windows based computer application and database management. Must be knowledgeable in fundraising trends and best practices, including tools and techniques relevant to the global/public health sector. Have a highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Must have a thorough understanding of international nonprofits and global health as well. Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% of the time, both nationally and internationally. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Management, Public Administration, or another relevant field. Master's Degree preferred but not required. At least 7 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, including strategy development, team management, and a proven track record of managing a portfolio of donors/prospects and closing large gifts. Understanding of and experience in the global health sector required; experience in the WASH field strongly preferred. Experience with Salesforce, iWave, Classy, and similar components, strongly desired. Experience with Project Management software, such as Asana. Must possess a valid driver's license and passport. Environmental & PHYSICAL CONDITIONS: Office and travel environments. Must be capable of lifting up to 50lbs.
