Job ID: 9228 Business Unit: Long Island Rail Road Location: Jamaica, NY, United States Regular/Temporary: Regular Department: Principal Engineer Track Stf Date Posted: Oct 22, 2024 Description Title: Maintenance of Way - MW Inspector Department: Engineering Post Date: 10/22/2024 Close Date: 11/05/2024 Hay Point Evaluation: NA 100% Hourly Rate of Pay: $47.13469 (See Wage Progression Chart) Position Classification: Safety Sensitive Location: Queens Reports To: Principal Engineer Track Union Affiliation: UTU 645b Summary: The MW Inspectors will assist Supervisors and Assistant Supervisors with administrative tasks to support the coordination of work for Track employees in their daily assignments including but not limited to the execution of canvassing overtime. They will also support the Supervisors and Assistant Supervisors efforts for the safe and economical use of available labor, material and equipment. This position will perform non-supervisory duties. Responsibilities: Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Be familiar with and follow all applicable Corporate and Departmental Policies and Procedures as well as regulatory requirements. Monitor the execution of canvassing to ensure elimination of unnecessary overtime, minimize fatigue, and that the work progresses promptly in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Input entries including but not limited to work orders, work board, TD, RE forms, SAFERS, and asset management forms. Produce mechanized/production reports for Engineering Dashboard. Review and reconcile charge outs. Assist with material and truck inventory checks and disposals for reasonableness. Maintain and verify TC-01 truck reports for archiving. Truck inspection and maintenance schedule adherence. Inspection of deliveries both via truck and rail to ensure accuracy of receival. Work with departments to reconcile project work code discrepancies (e.g. pre-bills). Verify and oversee asset and material removals/disposals with third party vendors including but not limited to scrap /fit tie, OTM, and rail removal. Support efforts for material cycle count. Interface with vendors upon delivery of materials. Archiving of packaging slips from all deliveries. Assist Supervision in annual ROW Physical Inventory. Inspection of Ballast Deliveries via truck for cleanliness, estimate deliveries. Assist with completions of Accident/Incident and/or MVA Reports as necessary. Respond to emergency call out. Be available for programmed work. Provide support and input to WEMS during weather related incidents. Other Track administrative/clerical tasks as assigned. Qualifications: A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent (GED) approved by a State's Department of Education or recognized accredited organization. Must possess a minimum of two years Track experience/knowledge. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Must possess a demonstrated willingness to assume and handle responsibility. Must have strong computer skills including Microsoft Office. Must possess the ability to demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills. Knowledge of Track materials and tools. Preferred: Knowledge of Collective Bargaining Agreements Wage Progression Rates-Hired on or After 9/25/2014 Step 1- 80% (1st year) - $37. Step 2- 90% (2nd year) - $42. Step 3- 100% - $47.13469 Employees Hired Prior to 9/24/2014 Step 1- 80% - $37. Step 2- 85% - $37. Step 3- 90% - $42. Step 4- 90% - $42.
