The Role: Under the supervision of the Field Service Manager, the Field Service Technician plays a pivotal role in promoting the Chromalox brand and providing support. Your contributions are integral to our success, and we value your role in the company. As the Field Service Technician, you will travel to customer sites and perform various tasks. These include equipment checkout, start-up, and troubleshooting of heater and control panel equipment, including heating cable. Additionally, you will perform electrical and mechanical checks on heating equipment, ensuring a diverse and stimulating work environment that will keep you engaged and excited about your work. The Field Service Technician position is a cross-functional role where you will partner heavily with our customers while communicating with our engineering, purchasing, and vendors when replacement parts are required. This position is remote, with travel to Customer Sites and all Chromalox North American Manufacturing Plants. The candidate can be located in Texas, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, and New York, with the flexibility to work remotely and travel as needed. This search can expand beyond these Regions, but the area described above is the focus. Your Responsibilities: Coordinate field service calls to meet group objectives for monthly performance. Install and replace components and products as required. Develop detailed proposals for standard and custom service contracts. Coordinate critical target dates from customer to engineering and production. Understand requirements for documentation of drawings, testing, approvals, and all submittals. Coordinate with subcontractors involved as required to complete the required fieldwork. Resolves customer complaints regarding equipment, supplies, and services. Assist customers and representatives in troubleshooting problems with equipment or applications. Provide start-up and installation assistance by phone or as needed at the customer job site. Establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships; training and teaching others. Maintenance of a clean and orderly work area free of excess materials. Support and involvement in company, department, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs, and activities. Requirements: At least 3+ years of professional working experience as a technician is required; working experience with electrical schematics, troubleshooting is required. An Associate Degree of Science in Electronics or Industrial Electricity is recommended, not required; certifications paired with working experience are also acceptable. Knowledge and working experience with Ohm's Law are required. This position requires up to 75% flying and/or driving travel, which may potentially include up to 50% overnight stays. Travel will be domestic and international. Working experience partnering and communicating with customers; willingness to learn and adapt to client culture is required. Ability to handle phys cal tasks such as lifting large/heavy objects and physical integration/maintenance work. Ability to make independent decisions on matters that influence assigned projects' outcomes. Experience with critical thinking and problem-solving in autonomous working situations. Be flexible and adaptable to change and work hours to meet the needs of the customer and the internal team.
