The Automation Engineer, Electrical works within the R&D group to develop the automation on production systems for the Biopharmaceutical market. This position will work on new products or improvements from an early phase - managing specification, design, industrialization, and transfer to manufacturing as part of a global multi-disciplinary product development team. This role will focus on common standards for the hardware architecture aligning with the overall automation strategy while collaborating with software engineering teams. What You'll Do: Lead hardware development, or improvement, from an early phase: managing specification, design, industrialization... Transfer to manufacturing as part of a global multi-disciplinary product development team; Serve as the architect of our electrical design, control systems and automation, aligning with our global standards; Partner with internal and external vendors; Define validation protocols and testing regimes. Assemble and test controller prototypes and perform modifications; Support troubleshooting and maintenance remote or on-site at customers for newly developed and/or launched products; Responsible for preparation of documentation of our products and systems; Write procedures, documentation and reports related to tests and tasks performed. Who You Are: Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering or relevant field. Master's Degree preferred 5 years relevant experience; Expertise in Electrical design, Control systems, expertise in designing Pneumatic systems is an asset; Knowledge of relevant regulations and directives (e.g. CE, NRTL, LVD, USP, cGMP, Machinery Directive, EMC, GAMP...).
