Provide first level support and help desk services for users of SCDC mainframe systems, PC network, and telecommunications to include serving as the central point of contact for all passwords, user I.D, and access questions and problems. IT and telecommunications hardware/exchanges/repairs to include: printer, card scanners, telephones, cell phones, digital cameras, etc. Conducts precursory evaluation of IT equipment. Repairs equipment if possible. Determines if equipment needs parts or further repair from vendor. Salvages equipment if necessary. Support end users to ensure proper use of data phones, VPN, DUO tokens etc. Must stay current with ever changing technology to provide this support. Support video conferencing equipment, multi-function printers/copiers and emerging technologies. Serve as back-up to other help desk staff members in the performance of their duties and continue cross-training so all members will be able to assist with all help desk duties. Assist with documenting help desk procedures and ensuring latest processes are documented in the help desk guide. Assist in maintaining proper IT equipment and telecommunications equipment Inventories. Resume recommended when applying for this position. An associate degree or a bachelor degree in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience.SCDC Minimum Requirements: (Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources).Associate's degree or a Bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience.Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in written form.Ability to work with others in a technical environment providing first level problem determination to users of SCDC on-line systems statewide.
