This is a W2 only position**Construction Project ManagerBakersfield, CA (Onsite) **Local candidates preferred (relocation at candidate expense)Company: Fortune 100 food & beverage manufacturer (FuseGlobal has been partnering with this company for 20 years)Initial term: 12 months (position expected to run longer)The Construction Manager will manage a major capital project (scope, cost, resources, etc.) They maintain visibility to the design process and assure adherence to all established key components and project deliverables and directly involved in project execution including construction and pre-commissioning. The Construction Manager will coordinate with the client as well as various other groups inside and outside of the organization.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Monitor design progress and deliverables are met in adherence to established project key components.Receive design details from design team with full understanding of project deliverables to coordinate bid package development and release for construction bidding and field execution.Assist with Selection of contractors and contracting methods based on engineering ways of working methodology.Direct and execute installation, construction, and commissioning of assigned projects.Manage adherence to project scope and secure approvals for all changes in projects based on engineering ways of working methodology.Assist in Management and control project budget by tracking head count on site and materials delivered.Manage and maintain project milestone schedules with integrated detailed scheduling as agreed upon in the project charter.Provide construction management and plant startup assistance as needed to ensure successful project execution.Evaluate, select, and issue contracts for construction firms through bidding and prequalification vetting processes.Permit to work approvals.Monitor site daily per OSHA 1926 standards for safety construction.Coordinate construction activities with all of owner's safety personnel, contractors and vendors.Participate in contractors' weekly safety meetings.Monitor contractors' workmanship per owner's specifications and scope of work.Lead punch list activities with contractors.Assure that project management resources are informed on a daily basis of activities on project.Maintain lessons learned file for future projects.Review all payment request applications to assure that percent of work is correct, upon request from PM.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum):Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited University preferred. Degree can be substituted with practical experience in construction industry. Will substitute 5 yrs in lieu of degreeExperience (YearsType): Minimum 5 years' experience in Construction Management.Requires experience in industrial manufacturing environments or building construction. 1-2 years minimum.Experience with large multimillion dollar capex projects required. 1-2 years minSkills: Scheduling software knowledge (P6 or Project) for review, project management tools and Microsoft Excel.4 years as a Construction Manager for a client highly preferredGreenfield experience highly preferred
