Join us at SummaryThe IT Director will play a critical role in advancing the organization's mission by overseeing all aspects of information technology (IT) within the organization, and ensuring that the IT department strengthens the national organization so it provides the most effective and efficient support and resources to Affiliates. This includes strategic planning, implementation, and management of IT systems and infrastructure. The IT Director will ensure that technology supports the organization's goals and enhances its service delivery, advocacy efforts, and operational efficiency. The IT Director will be responsible for overseeing the technological direction of the company, managing a team of IT professionals, and ensuring the security and efficiency of IT systems, negotiating and managing contracts with technology vendors and service providers. Oversight of comprehensive cybersecurity measures and IT risk management.The IT leader will be both hands-on and visionary. The role will bring solutions that meet day to day needs as well as bring consistency, scale, reliability and simplicity to the organization. The scope will cover core business infrastructure such as HRIS and ERP systems, program specific tools such as content delivery and learning management systems, as well as CRM fundraising tools and data management solutions. The right hire will be resourceful and not overly rely on outside consultants, and be comfortable selecting, integrating and customizing systems and tools that streamline the work of the national organization, and connect and meet the needs of the staff and volunteers across the affiliates in an intuitive and accessible way.The role is full-time, hybrid, based in Indianapolis, IN and reports to the COO.Specific ResponsibilitiesStrategic Planning and Leadership:Recommend and maintain an IT strategy that aligns with the organization's mission and strategic goals.Implement the IT strategy approved by leadership.Work collaboratively with newly forming IT Executive Committee and IT Governance Committees.Provide leadership and guidance on IT matters to the executive team and staff.Identify and implement innovative technologies to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.Continually identify new trends and emerging tools such as AI that can enhance and protect the organization.Provide input to and enforce the IT policies implemented by the various IT Governance Committees.IT Infrastructure Management:Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, databases, and security systems.Ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of IT systems.Manage relationships with external IT vendors and service providers.Ensure IT service desk operations are meeting performance metrics.Maximize interoperability by being highly selective when considering new systems, setting standards for departments and affiliates to follow in their own selection of technology, and being strategic and user-centric when leading system configuration and integration initiatives.Data Management and Security:Develop and enforce policies and procedures to ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and security of all data.Oversee data management, including data collection, storage, analysis, reporting, retention, and destruction.Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations.Oversee the development of an application lifecycle management plan to minimize the number of disparate systems, control costs, and improve the ease of providing analytics to the organization.Build and maintain infrastructure and policies that support training, data protection, compliance and privacy to uphold the highest youth protection standards.Team Leadership and Training:Manage and develop a lean, high-performing IT department (currently a staff of three). Delegate responsibilities and supervise team operations.Oversight of all contracted IT resources to ensure the accountability.Develop programs to provide training to staff to ensure effective use of IT systems and tools.Develop and deliver training programs to enhance IT staff skills and knowledge.Project Management:Must be able to manage multiple simultaneous projects in flight.Track and report on project progress, risks, and outcomes to executives in a written format.Create and maintain metrics and dashboards to demonstrate IT value and performance.Create operational metrics, KPIs, risks, and service level agreements with all vendors to ensure their value to the organization can be measured.Work with staff to develop a clear business case process for all IT projects that includes: the business problem(s) to be solved; technical, financial, operational, reputational, and staff impactsAlternative solutions; project timelines with milestones, metrics, training plans, and communication plansLead IT projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet organizational needs.Collaborate with other departments to identify technology needs and implement solutions.Budget and Resource Management:Lead large IT projects from conception to implementation, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.Oversee the procurement and management of IT assets, including hardware and software licensing.Identify and pursue funding opportunities for IT projects and initiatives.Qualifications10+ years of demonstrated experience working in the IT function, managing technical projects.Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or relevant field strongly preferred.Proven IT leadership experience, with a minimum of 5 years directly managing IT staff, preferably within the non-profit or education sectors for a mid-size or larger organization.Solid understanding of data analysis, budgeting, and business operations.Strong knowledge of how IT infrastructure, systems, and applications relate and operate together, with experience optimizing for interoperability.Leadership experience integrating, migrating and managing enterprise level systems.Specific enterprise level experience with SharePoint, Salesforce, Engaging Networks, Google Workspace, and Microsoft 365 a plus.Experience with data management, security and compliance best practices.Proven ability to develop and implement IT strategies, define requirements, and manage projects.Adept at conducting needs assessment with the various departments and operations of an organization, and selecting and implementing a range of hardware, software and SaaS solutions, and monitoring and optimizing their configuration to ensure internal and external clients needs are met.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Strong problem-solving and decision-making mitment to the mission and values of the pensationCompetitive salary and benefits will be offered, commensurate with the role and the final hire's experience.Benefits2-day hybrid work schedule out of our IND office, with one of those days being Tuesday.Healthcare, vision, and dental insuranceVacation, Sick, & Personal Time + 11 company holidaysTASC Card (HRA benefit) provided by Girls Inc.401(k) available with up to a 5% employer matchWellness StipendFun, friendly office environmentProfessional development opportunitiesGirl's Inc.
