For more information, please visit our website at SummaryOpportune is seeking a Tax Manager to assist the Tax practice grow its tax compliance and financial reporting advisory practice. In this role, the Manager will be responsible for engagement delivery in all areas of federal and state income tax including mergers and acquisitions, transactional tax services, capital markets events, restructurings, and public entity reporting. Job Duties:• Preparingreviewing federal and state corporate and partnership income and franchise tax returns• Preparingreviewing quarterly and yearend tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740• Advising clients on tax planning strategies including research and writing memoranda providing analysis and conclusions• Mentoring other tax professionals• Growing the firm's Tax Practice• Willingness to travel (may or may not be required)Qualifications:• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required, Master's degree is preferred• CPA license is required• 4 or more years of relevant experience at a large corporate tax department or at a large public accounting firm• Strong knowledge of corporate and partnership tax rules• Strong commitment to client service and the energy industry• Highly motivated, self-starting individual with a goal-oriented personality• Excellent project management skills• Experience working with MS Office, Gosystems or OneSource, and research platforms such as BNA or CheckpointLocation:Downtown Houston in the Pennzoil BuildingCompensation & Benefits:Competitive compensation based on experience, health, dental, life, and disability insurance, subsidized parking, a 401(k) plan, hybrid schedule, and an annual performance bonus.
