Join our dynamic team at Hines VA Medical Center as a Biomedical Technician/Equipment Support Specialist - Level III, and play a crucial role in maintaining the functionality and performance of essential medical devices for the healthcare of our Veterans. You will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, from preventive maintenance to ensuring compliance with safety standards and addressing cybersecurity threats, all while contributing to the enhancement of patient care. Responsibilities: As a Biomedical Equipment Technician at Hines VA Medical Center, you will: Perform routine preventive maintenance on a diverse range of medical equipment to optimize functionality and extend equipment lifespan. Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams to implement and maintain medical device security protocols, safeguarding patient data and protecting against cyber threats. Provide technical support and training to medical staff on the proper operation and handling of medical equipment, ensuring seamless equipment operations for enhanced patient care. Requirements: Five years of hospital or healthcare experience performing medical equipment maintenance. Two-year associate degree in an applied science or equivalent military training. Demonstrated competency to perform operational verification procedures, planned maintenance, and repair service on various medical equipment. Experience with Cerner electronic health record (EHR) systems and integration. Preferred Qualifications: Understanding of regulatory agencies' requirements, industry regulatory requirements, and International Standard Organization standards. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical literature, schematics, and drawings. Ability to obtain and maintain Federal Public Trust clearance.
