The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing the payroll department and ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees . This role involves managing a team of payroll specialists, coordinating with HR and finance departments, and ensuring compliance with federal, state and local regulations . The Payroll Manager will also implement and maintain payroll systems and policies and provide leadership and guidance to the payroll team. What You Will Do: Administer the preparation and processing of multi-state, semi-monthly payroll ensuring accuracy and compliance. Oversee the employee who administers the multi-state weekly payroll, providing guidance and ongoing feedback. Review and approve payroll data, including wages, bonuses, deductions, taxes and other withholdings. Manage and resolve payroll discrepancies, ensuring timely resolution of any issues. Ensure payroll processing and record retention adheres to all federal, state and local payroll laws and regulations. Prepare and review required payroll tax reports, W-2s, and other year-end reporting. Conduct regular audits of payroll procedures and records to ensure compliance and accuracy. Implement and maintain payroll systems and processes, ensuring they are up-to-date and meet the organization's needs. Develop, implement and enforce payroll policies and procedures to streamline operations and ensure consistency. Working knowledge of benefits administration. What You Will Bring: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration or related field preferred. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in payroll/benefits management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Comprehensive knowledge of payroll processes, systems and relevant laws and regulations. Experience with payroll software (UKG a plus) and advanced Excel skills. Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of developing high-performing teams. Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail.
