Overview We currently have a need for a Corporate Counse l who will serve as member of the Company's legal department and report to the Associate Vice President & Deputy General Counsel. The attorney in this position will be responsible for collaborating across all levels of the organization to provide legal advice both individually and together with other Legal team members and outside counsel. This role requires the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast paced environment while juggling multiple demands. This position is for our Syosset, LI Office. Come join our team! (GISI), the parent company of The LiRo Group and Hill International, Inc. consolidated a portion of the highly experienced staff of both LiRo and Hill in the Northeast to create a larger, more efficient, and cost-effective team to serve clients. Hill-LiRo is a 1100-person firm with offices in NYC, Long Island, Buffalo, Rochester, Boston and Metro Park, NJ. Responsibilities Review, negotiate and draft contracts across a variety of business functions including, construction subcontractor agreements, professional services, supplier agreements, design and consultant agreements, joint venture and teaming agreements, NDAs and other commercial contracts Review Requests for Proposals and Requests for Qualifications for adverse terms Provide direction and guidance on general corporate compliance, company policies and practices, and reporting and licensing requirements Provide guidance and analysis on legal risks that arise out of design and construction projects Appear on behalf of Company during ECB hearings Provide legal analysis of applicable laws, regulations and industry guidance that impact the Company Provide responsive and effective legal support and guidance to the Companies business units as needed Provide other in-house legal services as needed for construction and design firm Qualifications Minimum 3-7 years of legal experience with emphasis on Commercial transactions, Risk and Compliance, preferable in the construction or design industry and public sector area Experience in drafting and reviewing contracts, transactional due diligence, and MBE/WBE contract compliance work Strong written and verbal communication skills with keen attention to detail Superior research, interpretation, and analytical skills Demonstrated leadership and organizational abilities General experience in abroad range of legal issues Experience with Microsoft Suite including: Word, Excel, Power-Point, and Outlook or comparable software applications Desired Characteristics: Team player, ability to work both independently and in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment A practical, creative and proactive problem-solver Strong business judgment and problem-solving capabilities Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills High degree of responsiveness Ability to manage shifting priorities and multiple responsibilities Broad corporate transactional experience Required license or certification: Bar admission in at least New York state Our Culture: We believe in the power of collaboration. The range provided is the salary that the Firm in a good faith believes at the time of this posting is willing to pay for the advertised position.
