Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Facility Mechanic for the Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O).Among the key duties of this position are the following: Performs a variety of maintenance repairs and installations, such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC /R and painting in and around the building and grounds of the facility. Use Sketches, operational manuals or manufacturer's specifications as needed. Direct other mechanics and helpers. Certifications/Licenses Valid driver's license. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to perform minor repair to all skilled trades including mechanical equipment/systems, HVAC /R, electrical, plumbing, and fire alarm systems. Preferred Qualifications New Jersey Black Seal Engineer's License is preferred. Equipment Utilized Physical Demands and Work Environment PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to perform physical labor without restrictions, including lifting equipment in excess of fifty (50) pounds, performing work on roof, scaffolds and ladders. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Working inside and outside on utilities department equipment .Driving from campus to campus to perform daily maintenance functions.
