Penn State Construction J&D, LLC is a general contractor of commercial buildings completing design-build, hard bid, and negotiated projects. We have the capability to self-perform site preparation and excavation, wood and steel structure, and architectural finishes. Redrock Construction, Inc. is a specialty bridge/site contractor that has provided construction services for customers including private and public agencies in Central Pennsylvania and the surrounding areas since 1980. Redrock provides single- and two-span precast and cast-in-place bridges, box culverts, drainage structures, and general site work. Construction Operations Manager Overview The Construction Operations Manager will be responsible for the "get work done" construction function of the companies. The individual filling this role sits on the company's leadership team. Essential Functions Lead, Manage, and Hold Accountable all personnel involved in construction operations. Fully embrace company values, mission, and vision. Plan work to be completed. Execute the plan safely. The goal is zero recordable injuries. Deliver projects on time meeting customers' schedule requirements. Build projects at or under budget. Complete work that meets the required quality standards and results in no punch list. Acquire and allocate resources; people, equipment, and materials; to complete work efficiently and achieve desired utilization. Prepare the organization for scalable and sustainable growth. Contribute to leading the company. Required Competencies Communication -- effective both verbally and written, across all organization levels. Schedule -- near-term and long-term scheduling are vital for completing work and predicting workload needs. Required Qualifications A valid Pennsylvania driver's license An acceptable motor vehicle record 20 years of experience leading commercial building and/or small bridge construction An engineering degree in a related field is desired but not required Working Conditions Time will be split between the office and the field. Proportioning of time will vary depending on the active work. Physical Demands Sitting at a desk and working at a computer. Driving. Visiting job sites and field staff is a significant portion of the role. On construction sites. One must be able to physically navigate construction sites. Must be able to lift as much as 25 pounds at times.
