Provides programmatic and administrative support through writing, proofreading, editing, graphic design, and data management. In collaboration with the University Advancement team, the Assistant Director of Donor Engagement will be required to assist and participate in "all hands" alumni/donor events, including but not limited to Homecoming, Reunions, and Campaign events. Collaborate with diverse constituent groups, including major gifts officers and senior administrators, to achieve shared objectives and foster meaningful, lasting donor relationships. 40 Manage, edit, and draft targeted stewardship communications and narrative reports and strategically steward our most generous donors through data-driven decision-making and special projects such as stewardship events, milestone recognition, and engagement opportunities. 20 Assist with writing, editing, and organizing various communications mediums, including relevant web pages, letters, emails, online event registrations, etc.10 Oversee strategic planning and execution of university-side stewardship community-building events.10 Understand and evaluate existing systems and processes, identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and develop new systems to enhance the advancement team's overall effectiveness and efficiency. 10 Supplemental Functions: Attend meetings and events when the director is not available.5 Perform other duties to enhance the mission and goals of University Advancement & Alumni, Donor and Family Engagement, including all-hands-on-deck programming, data development, and programming support.5 Typical Qualifications Education: Bachelor's Degree. Years of Experience: 1 - 3 years in stewardship, donor relations, university advancement, advancement services or related field preferred. Certification and/or Licensure A valid driver's license. No TSA restrictions. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Superior communication skills with the ability to communicate with diverse constituencies; clarity and persuasiveness in written and oral communication. Exceptionally strong organizational and leadership skills; ability to plan ahead, think strategically, and manage multiple projects and deadlines. Strong attention to detail, excellent proofreading, fact checking, typing accuracy. Highly skilled and able to create an idea, or adopt one from someone else, and then monitor it from beginning to end; develop and recommend procedures and systems to ensure smooth operations. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders. Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as autonomously. Ability to research, analyze and prepare reports and monitor projects; prepare draft reports and documents with attention to details. Provide timely follow-up when necessary. Comfort with change and ambiguity in a fast-paced environment. Advanced knowledge of, and demonstrated skill with, Microsoft Office (Specifically, Word, Excel and Outlook) to implement, develop, and maintain computer-based business operations. Familiarity with design software and technologies (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop). A keen eye for aesthetics and details. Ability to relate professionally and positively in work and social settings. Ability to travel regularly and get from place to place to perform work functions. Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the department's needs, which will include evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays. Working Conditions / Physical requirements Standard office environment. Regular exposure to video display screens. Routine exposure to travel hazards associated with regular air ground travel.
