OMJCC- Heavy Equipment Operator

*Ohio Means Jobs Cleveland Cuyahoga County is sourcing for a Heavy Equipment operator in a Cleveland Ohio scrap yard. * Our company purchases industrial/commercial scrap to be processed by sorting, shearing, baling, or breaking. This work is accomplished by operating material handlers with a magnet or grapple, excavators with shear attachments, and balers. As well as small to large forklifts, skid steers, and industrial sized trucks to move material. Duties: Safely and efficiently load outbound trucks, unload incoming scrap loads, and/or process the scrap metal. Identify the different grades of scrap products, where they need to go in the scrap yard, and how they will need to be processed. Coordinate with other employees to ensure work is being done safely and at the appropriate time, example fluids have been drained from scrap machinery. Maintain a clean workspace inside your machine and an organized surrounding work area. Regularly inspect your machine for wear and tear or damage to ensure total functioning. We are looking for someone who is reliable, attentive, and prioritizes safety. We value problem solving and communication. We are open to an operator with a willingness to learn and can be cross trained on multiple types of machinery.
