Manager, Software Development & Data Analytics Job Locations US-OH-Toledo | US-OR-Hillsboro | US-MI-Troy ID Category Technology & Information Systems Type Full Time Overview SSOE is looking for technology leadership and management for our software development, data engineering & analytics department in our Technology Organization. This position reports to the Director of Project Technology and is responsible for the success, efficiency, and growth of their team. The Project Technology Division is responsible for innovation, automation, and emerging technology efforts such as advanced automation/analytics, data architecture, custom applications & integrations and introduction of AI to enhance our Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) business. Our focus is the creation of value driven solutions and continuous improvement with people, process, technology and data. The Manager will oversee aspects of our software development and data team and collaborate with other leaders in our Technology Organization, Business Operations, and corporate functions through further integration of SSOE data as a key business differentiator. This role can be based out of our Toledo (OH), Troy (MI) or Hillsboro (OR) locations and will include a minimum of 2 days per week in-office with up to 3 days per week remote permitted. Responsibilities Position Responsibilities: Team leadership: Leading the data engineering and software development team by setting clear expectations, providing motivation, technical growth, fostering collaboration, and issue resolution. This will include direct reports, technology leadership, and SSOE leadership. Empowering a global, inclusive, and healthy team dynamic and culture while driving excellence in our solutions and outcomes by delivering unparalleled client value that advances the AEC industry. Strategy development: Working closely with Directors, organizational Leaders, and manager peers to influence SSOE's data strategy and leverage custom development that aligns with SSOE's strategic and tactical objectives. This involves documenting/facilitating goals, balancing priorities, and guiding the team's focus on critical projects. Alignment of our data and development initiatives to current and future needs of our business is critical. The manager will work closely with their Director and other management peers to be successful. Stakeholder management: Collaborating with cross-functional teams, senior management, and other stakeholders to ensure data and custom development projects/resources align with business objectives and communicating progress and results effectively. Project management/resource management: Overseeing and delegating the planning, execution, and timely delivery of data or custom development projects, ensuring that they meet the required quality standards and adhere to schedule/budget constraints. Evaluating the resources, skills, and talent pool needed to complete the work which could include consulting engagements and US/global workshare. Performance Management: Evaluates, coaches, and mentors the growth of staff under the leadership of the Director. Experience managing global resources that are both direct hire as well as consulting engagements. This will include career planning, training and development responsibilities as well as hiring and corrective action duties. Innovation and Continuous improvement activities that support the growth of SSOE through increasing internal customer efficiencies. Technology & Data Governance: Partnering with the business and SSOE's Information Technology Division (Infrastructure and Support) to align with our security, redundancy, and sustainability standards as it relates to data and custom development projects. Responsible for monitoring compliance and continuous improvement or change management requests as corporate, client, and operational needs require. Technology and Tools: Evaluating, maintaining, and recommending data management, analysis, and development tools, as well as the technologies and platforms that are aligned with SSOE's technology vision. Travel to support operation needs, team development, and project support will be required. Qualifications 7-10 years Leadership & Management of a technology team, with proven experience in driving quality and providing results. 5 or more years of professional experience in Computer Science, Software Development, or Data Science related work. Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Business, or Data Engineering equivalent. Experience in Agile/Lean project management techniques as well as quality standards and best practices with SDLC delivery. Experience in managing Global or APAC resources including consultant engagements to scale teams for specific business or project needs. Familiarity with the Microsoft software development tech stack including desktop, web, and cloud. Confident in tailoring presentations to different audiences: Executives, Management, Clients, End Users, and Peers. Salary Range: $130,000 - $160,000/year based on experience.
