The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) is seeking a talented cook to serve residents of the Southeastern Veterans' Center (SEVC). DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Cook 2, you will be responsible for preparing meals and snacks for SEVC residents. This includes developing and adjusting recipes to ensure the highest quality of service. You will need to order ingredients and supplies based on estimated food production needs. You will also be responsible for maintaining kitchen equipment and ensuring cleanliness of food production areas. Additionally, you will utilize strong leadership skills to function as a lead worker over lower-level cooks and food service workers. Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment (40 hours per week) You will work a flexible schedule on the following shifts. All shifts include a 30-minute lunch. 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM You will have rotating days off, including every other weekend. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Desirable Preparation for Work: Experience as a cook in a large volume food preparation operation; or Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training. Additional Requirements: You must be able to perform essential job functions. Legal Requirements: A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
