STQ Partners are currently working with a specialist Packaged Equipment business with vast experience in complex skid packages . Focus on a range of disciplines including Pumping, Air Compression, Hydraulic Power, Chemical Storage, Gas Compression. They are now seeking to appoint a Mechanical Engineer to join the business. The Mechanical Engineer role focuses on design and test of all aspects of mechanical equipment and machinery related to the designated project/s. The ideal candidate will have experience in design, sizing & specification of a range of skid packages & mechanical products - Hydraulic Control Systems, Hydraulic Power Units, Subsea Control Units, Chemical Injection Units. Responsibilities: Work with a design team to create process flow diagrams, equipment layouts, and fabrication drawings Sizing and specification of components and completion of hydraulic calculations Perform mechanical design and fabrication for various types of hydraulic power and control units including conceptualization, material selection, assembly, testing and validation Works with vendors to procure or contract required parts and work Proactively document and communicate project plans, costs, and tasks for team members and supervisors Uses computer-assisted design (CAD) software to create preliminary and detailed drawings of products and structural analysis Produces specifications for products and chooses raw materials and components to be used in production Review P&ID and Structural drawings as needed for creation of skid packaged units Provides engineering technical support to the production team during the build and commissioning of your machines Qualifications/Experience: Bachelor's degree In Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum, or Industrial Engineering 2+ years of experience in skid mounted equipment within a manufacturing setting Understanding of Hydraulics - Pressure, flow, etc. Ability to work with a flexible mindset to handle multiple product lines and multiple projects simultaneously Provide review and mark ups to structural drawings, piping drawings, P&IDS, testing procedures, operations manuals Strong professional verbal and written communication skills Ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team Ability to perform tasks in a fast-paced environment Familiarity with HPU, TUTA, Chemical Injection, Well Head Control Panels is a plus If you want to work in a project-centric; growing business with a rich history in the Houston area- we look forward to hearing from you.
