Job Description: Job Summary: The Credentialed Substance Use Disorder Counselor will provide therapy as needed to a caseload of both Residential and Outpatient clients; will conduct both Residential and Outpatient groups/classes as needed, and in addition, will complete all documentation and any requested reports by ancillary contracted agencies. Essential Job Functions: The MAADC I or II will be responsible for the performance of all core functions appropriate to the treatment of substance abuse. The MAADC I or II will be responsible for all case management activities involving their assigned client under the supervision of a CRADC or above. The MAADC I or II must complete all paperwork, progress notes, treatment plans, admission forms, weekly summaries, court reports and letters, discharge summary's and aftercare plans as directed in the Clinical Policy & Procedure Manual. The MAADC I or II will obtain supervisory co signatures on all required documents. The MAADC I or II must have knowledge of the Clients Limited and Unlimited Rights and ensure the client's rights are not violated. The MAADC I or II must abide by all ethical requirements as outlined by the Missouri Substance Abuse Certification Board. Unethical conduct will result in termination. The MAADC I or II duties will range from individual counseling, group counseling, group education, assessment, codependency counseling, family counseling and intervention. And will be under the supervision of a CRADC Certified Clinical Supervisor. The MAADC I or II will be expected to provide services at times requested by the Program Director. This may include weekend and evening hours. The MAADC I or II will ensure completion of all CEU's as indicated by the Counselor Development Plan and the MSAPCB requirements which includes three hours in ethics training by a live presenter annually per MAADC level. The MAADC I or II is expected to provide 28 hours per week of productive services, these include individual counseling, group counseling, group education, staffing, and any counseling service. (for full time employees). The MAADC I or II will meet with the CRADC Certified Clinical Supervisor for one hour per week (for a minimum of one year) and as necessary following one year of weekly supervision, to ensure adequate supervision and completion of the Counselor Development Plan. A written record will be maintained by the Trainee demonstrating the date and time supervision took place and the topics discussed. Supervisors will periodically observe individual sessions, group counseling sessions and group education sessions to ensure quality of services provided by the Trainee. Are expected to advance in the certification process and to obtain CADC certification in a timely manner. (MAADC I or IIs who are determined at any time to not be appropriate for continued advancement towards a CADC certification will be removed from the Trainee position.) Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must demonstrate a high standard of ethics and values. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively before groups of residents, employees of the organization, family members and other contacts in the community. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply logic and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Shall be able to establish effective relationships via telephone and personal contacts. Shall be able to follow direction and accept supervision. Experience and Education Qualifications: Must have a High School Diploma or GED. Must demonstrate the necessary interpersonal and academic skills needed to perform successfully in a substance abuse treatment environment If recovering, must have a minimum of two years of continuous sobriety and demonstrate a stable recovery program. Must be able to earn a MAADC I or MAADC II certification Must be able to demonstrate computer skills. Supervisory Requirements: None. Employment Requirements: Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect and fingerprint check. Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment. All training requirements including Relias at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter. Current driver's license, acceptable driving record and current auto insurance. Physical Requirements: ADA Consideration - Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (exists up the 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (exists 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Repetitive movements of hands, fingers, and arms for typing and/or writing during work shift. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
