Associate Director, Financial Aid Posting Number: Reports to: Executive Director, Financial Aid Department: Financial Aid Classification: Exempt Full or Part-time: Full Time Job Summary: In conjunction with the Executive Director of Financial Aid, assists in overall administration of Financial Aid (FA) Office. Manages recalculation process for students receiving Title IV funds and administration of Michigan State aid. Ensures compliance with Department of Education (DOE ) consumer information requirements. Essential Functions: Provides supervision for FA customer service and support staff. 2. Manages the recalculation process for students receiving Title IV funds. 3. Ensures compliance with DOE consumer information requirements. 4. Exercises professional judgment on applicants with special circumstances. 5. Performs verification and other eligibility related processing of student files. 6. Provides FA advising to students/families on application, eligibility, awarding and processing. 7. Maintains a current procedure manual for all job duties. 8. Assists Executive Director of Financial Aid with office administration. 9. Coordinates and conducts FA workshops both on and off campus. 10. Actively stays abreast of federal and state FA regulations. Other Duties: Performs other duties as assigned. Accountabilities: Job Specifications: Bachelor's Degree and/or three years of experience related to financial aid is required. Experience in a customer service-oriented environment required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word. Experience in Microsoft Access and Banner preferred. Excellent organizational skills. Confidentiality is required.
