This position offers a flexible schedule with both day and night shifts available. The RN will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients in a 24-bed unit that includes intermediate care and unit-based Responsibilities:Provide direct patient care to surgical, neuro/neurosurgical, trauma, and vascular surgery patients needing a higher level of care between unit level and ICU, including ventilator/high respiratory need in a Vascular Surgery Step Down Unit, caring for patients who have undergone surgeries such as carotid endarterectomy, fem-pop bypass grafts, amputations, and more.Function as overflow support for the MSDU.Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care.Monitor patient progress, update care plans, and ensure continuity of care.Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Epic charting system.Requirements:Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York.Experience in Progressive Care, Stepdown, or similar units.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage complex patient care.Flexibility to work rotating shifts: typically 2 weeks days, 2 weeks nights.Ability to work weekends and every other weekend (EOW) as required.Open to first-time travelers; travel pairs must be flexible with different shifts.Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.Hospital Information:Type of Facility:Tertiary Care HospitalTotal Staffed Beds:528Scrub Color:Any combination of navy and whiteCharting System:EpicAdditional Information:This role is ideal for nurses who are adaptable, eager to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, and committed to providing exceptional patient care.
