Chenega Services & Federal Solutions, LLC, a Chenega Professional Services ' company, is looking for a Disaster Recovery Specialist to join our team of IT experts at the Federal Housing Finance Agency's (FHFA) Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). As a key member of our disaster recovery team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining comprehensive disaster recovery strategies and plans to ensure the continuity of IT systems, applications, and data. You will collaborate with business units to understand critical systems and data and establish recovery priorities and objectives. Responsibilities Develop Comprehensive Disaster Recovery Plans: Develop and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery strategies and plans to ensure the continuity of IT systems, applications, and data. Conduct Risk Assessments and Business Impact Analyses: Conduct risk assessments and business impact analyses to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities to IT systems and data. Develop and Execute Disaster Recovery Tests and Simulations: Develop and execute disaster recovery tests and simulations to validate the effectiveness of DR plans and procedures. Implement and Manage Backup Strategies: Implement and manage backup strategies to ensure that data is regularly backed up and can be restored effectively. Oversee Data and System Restoration: Oversee the restoration of data and systems from backups in the event of a disaster or data loss incident. Maintain Detailed Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of disaster recovery plans, processes, and procedures. Continuously Review and Improve DR Strategies: Continuously review and improve DR strategies and procedures to ensure they remain effective and up-to-date. Ensure Compliance with Industry Regulations and Organizational Policies: Ensure that disaster recovery practices comply with relevant industry regulations, standards, and organizational policies. Manage Compliance Documentation and Audit Trails: Manage and maintain compliance documentation and audit trails for disaster recovery activities. Coordinate the Acquisition and Management of DR Resources: Coordinate the acquisition and management of DR resources, including hardware, software, and third-party services. Ensure Vendor Contracts Align with Organizational Requirements: Ensure that vendor contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) align with organizational DR requirements and expectations. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience as a senior IT professional. Experience with disaster recovery planning, risk assessments, and business impact analyses, including the development and execution of disaster recovery tests and simulations. Knowledge of backup strategies and data restoration processes, including the management of backups and restores in enterprise environments. Familiarity with industry regulations, standards, and organizational policies related to disaster recovery, including compliance documentation and audit trails. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: High degree of technical expertise, analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Able to think critically, prioritize tasks effectively, and maintain detailed documentation of disaster recovery-related activities. Agility in adapting to changing priorities: The ability to update/pivot from a given plan in order to refocus resources elsewhere as needed. Collaborative mindset: Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including business units, IT professionals, and stakeholders. Strong analytical skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex disaster recovery issues and develop effective solutions. Demonstrated ability to work independently and execute on a day to day basis, while employing a hands on approach. Final salary determination based on skill-set, qualifications, and approved funding.
