As we continue to grow our company family, we are searching for a Project Accountant to join our team of professionals at our Lanham, MD, location. With a focus on project support, the Project Accountant will work with our project managers to assist in the entire cost cycle of a project. Managing committed costs and major purchase order items, the Project Accountant reports directly to our Controller and is vital to the success and growth of the organization. Primary Responsibilities Include: •Respond to daily communications from subcontractors regarding payment & billing status and compliance issues •Review any newly acquired jobs and prepare accounting compliance checklists •Assist projects managers (PM) with the setup of projects, respond to daily requests for information from PM's •Assist PM's with initiating and monitoring purchase orders •Monitor subcontract documentation and collaborate regularly with A/R Accountant •Review cost reports weekly for all active jobs to ensure all costs are being charged correctly and appropriately •Reconcile monthly subcontractor and prime equipment vendor statements as needed and review A/P discrepancies as they arise •Additional duties and recurring responsibilities to be completed on a weekly, monthly, quarterly & annual basis as assigned by the Controller Successful applicants will have: •Associates or bachelor's degree in Accounting or related discipline •2+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience with exposure to cost accounting, project accounting, and/or construction accounting required •Exceptionally strong quantitative, analytical, and organizational skills with an ability to consistently manage and meet reporting deadlines. •Professional experience working with subcontractors, vendors and external clients to achieve organizational goals •Excellent verbal and written communication skills to various audiences What we're offering: We take a tremendous amount of pride in our culture.
