Auto-Body Technician

Job Description: Looking for a full-time skilled auto body technician to add to Team TEI. The primary job will be work on the exteriors of vehicles ranging from passenger cars to semi-trucks. This includes refinishing vehicles and preparing them for paint plus also assist with some painting duties. The auto body technicians work as part of a larger team, it is important the candidate be professional and able to work well with others. This position is based out of Autocraft Collision Center, located in Virginia Beach, VA. Responsibilities: Identify, prioritize, and perform needed auto body repairs on light to heavy duty vehiclesFollow all workplace and OSHAA safety requirements Prepare vehicles to be painted by repairing collision damage, filling, sanding, and refinishingBe able to sandblast and paint vehicles or vehicle components Realign vehicle frames and repair structural damage Remove, repair, or replace damaged vehicle parts with power and hand tools Assist with scheduling vehicle downtime Maintain and clean tools, equipment, and shop space Any other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager Requirements: Detailed knowledge and understanding of vehicles structures Be familiar with the characteristics of metals, plastics and compounds used in vehicle constructionSkills to use full range of repair techniques including hydraulic tools and presses Replace trims, seals, decals, and check for imperfections during the finishing process Have a strong attention for details Should have a "team first" attitude and maintain our team atmosphere even in stressful situationsInterpersonal skills to effectively communicate with co-workers or customers Needs to be able to operate a forklift Must pass a drug screening Benefits: Medical, Dental and Vision insurance coverage Medical insurance (paid 100% by TEI at 5 year work anniversary) Life insurance policy Legal and other supplemental coverage Simple IRA with TEI matching contribution PTO, Holiday, and Bereavement pay ***SIGN-ON BONUS AVAILABLE WITH QUALIFIED EXPERIENCE!***
