WHO we're looking for: We are looking for a Product Test Engineer who will be responsible for conducting testing of the function and performance of our TV and Home Audio products to ensure they meet our high quality standards. Product testing will be done during the design phase as well as after the product is launched into the market. The testing procedures include hardware testing, firmware testing and embedded App testing. You will work closely with the Product Support team to identify issues, document them and test possible resolutions. Test procedures need to be evaluated and updated as necessary to incorporate new features or applications added to the products. This role is an integral function with the TV/AV Product Support team. The main function of the Product Test Engineer is focused on the new product introductions, post launch field quality support, and firmware/software updates quality assurance testing. Role and Responsibilities: Testing during the design phase of new products Evaluation of product functions and features. Evaluation of all pre-production firmware releases. Evaluation of pre-installed Apps to ensure proper operation and interaction with the product. Confirm compatibility with various external devices commonly connected to our TV product. Document all findings, how to reproduce the issue and frequency of occurrence utilizing existing report structures. Update existing test scripts when new features or capabilities are introduced. Testing after product is released to the market Perform post-production firmware/software quality assurance testing before release. Test all firmware service releases to ensure reported problem is corrected, and no additional issues are created by the update. Create test cases to reproduce product issues reported after launch. Document all findings, how to reproduce the issue and frequency of occurrence utilizing existing report structures. Maintenance of Service Software tools, primarily our CMS and STG applications Updating content within the App. Supporting user community, such as ID/password updates and functional issues. App coding updates as needed. Required Experience and Education: 0-3 years of experience. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical related field. Knowledge of home network infrastructure. Specifically Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and other methods to connect products to each other, as well as to home networks General knowledge of home electronics. Proficient with the MS Office suite of tools including Outlook, Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint. Necessary Skills and Attributes: Self-motivated individual with the ability to thrive in a team-based or independent environment. Detail-oriented with strong organization skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Limited supervision and the exercise of discretion. Ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with peers within the department. Work under very little supervision and guidance to identify and ensure achievement of team goals and to complete individual work assignments within established time frames. Ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple assignments and projects. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Performs work under time schedules and stress which are normally periodic or cyclical, including time sensitive deadlines, intellectual challenge, some language barriers, and project management deadlines. May require working additional time beyond normal schedule and periodic travel.
