Plymouth Tube is looking for an enthusiastic, ambitious team member to join our Supply Chain team. The successful candidate will live both in the big picture as well as in the details, desire to make an impact, and work well in a team and individually.ABOUT THE JOB:The Site Planner sets the daily and weekly production schedule that best aligns with customer needs, mill capability, and overall goals of Plymouth Tube Co. Additionally, the Planner uses the longer-term capacity plan to provide sales with production lead times for new orders that take into consideration existing orders, projected orders, and raw material lead times.The planner works with the Strategic Materials team to order the optimal raw material quantities that adhere to Plymouth's internal quality standards. The Site Planner tracks the daily and weekly schedule adherence, inventory turns, order backlog and prioritization (in conjunction with sales). The Site Planner plays a key role in Plymouth's S&OP process.WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:Adhering to all site and corporate Safety, Environmental, and Regulatory requirements.Ensure supply of material to support demand which may include assisting in resolving shortages, assisting in allocations of limited materials, and preventing potential schedule interruptions.Ensure gaps in ability to supply are addressed, scenarios established, and issues appropriately escalated.Work with manufacturing to help create production plans that meet inventory targets for finished goods and customer requested delivery dates.Set the weekly production schedule which is approved by mill operations.Adjust the daily production schedule based off previous day's results and anticipated capacity requirements for the remainder of the week.Analyze and schedule adherence, inventory and forecasting performance and identify process improvements.Participate in weekly planning meetings in addition to monthly Supply Reviews as part of the S&OP process.Support introduction of new products and product discontinuationWork cross functionally with all areas of the business, i.e.: Sales & Marketing, Finance, Operations, Demand Planning and Purchasing to solve problems and identify business improvement opportunities.Leverage system settings and parameters to drive planning efficiency.Manage Schedule Agreements andor Purchase Orders for inbound finished goods and municate supply position to the business and perform "what if" analyses as required.Maintain planning system and master data integrity as well as keeps assigned documentation updated following all departmental policies, corporate procedures, and work instructions.Contribute to business process definition and documentation and generally supports Supply Chain performance improvement plans.Manage and control the finished goods supply to ensure customer demand fulfillment is balanced with service, delivery, and inventory.Key Metric Accountability (Tracks and Owns Status)Daily schedule adherence (at the mill order level)Weekly schedule adherence (at the mill order level and in absolute feet for key plant resources)Order backlog by days past due, value, order quantityOrder backlog by key resource and absolute feetInventory turns.WHAT YOU'LL NEED:Desired:bachelor's degree in supply chain management or Business Management plus 1+ years of Supply ChainMaster Scheduling experience-OR"”3+ years progressive experience in Supply ChainMaster Scheduling role with proven and documented success in lieu of a degree-OR"”Commensurate experience within a discrete manufacturing environment like a Plymouth Tube millASCM (APICS) certification preferred or attained within the first year in the role. Additional Requirements Lean ManufacturingContinuous Improvement experience a must.
