Company DescriptionHarvey Power LLC specializes in commercial diesel generator services, including preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and mobile power generation setups. Our field technicians are stationed throughout the Southeast, and we primarily work in the industrial rental power & HVAC space. Role DescriptionThis is a 1099 Contract role (typically 30 - 45 hours per week), as a Diesel Generator Technician, on-site at various Harvey Power customer locations around the Savannah, GA andor Charleston, SC areas. [Positions in other locations may be available]. The technician will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance (oil and filters), setup, troubleshooting (electrical, mechanical, and software settings), and repair of diesel generators and associated equipment.Service truck, tools, and PPE are provided by Harvey Power. In addition to field and shop service for local customers, this role requires 10 - 30% out of town travel (travel, lodging, & meals provided). Local recurring service work is typically during business hours M-F, with rotating weekend on-call schedule. Short term special assignments may require weekends or different hours.QualificationsElectro-mechanical troubleshooting and repair skillsStrong understanding of and hands-on experience with diesel enginesExperience with AC and DC, high voltage and low voltage electrical equipmentUnderstanding of single phase, 2-phase, and 3-phase electrical powerCertification or training in diesel engine repair, HVAC, or power generation is a plusPrior experience in a similar role or industryCommunication skills: must be able to give in-personphonewritten reports of job status, repair recommendations, equipmentsupplies needed, and schedule updatesFluent EnglishAbility to work independentlyAbility to coordinate work with others on multi-person jobsThe technician will represent Harvey Power and is expected to engage with customers in a courteous and professional manner.Clean driving record and valid driver's licenseMust be able to pass security screenings to enter customer sites on military basesAbility to work hands-on with heavy equipment and tools, lift and carry heavy objects (~75lb)Ability and willingness to drive long distances (paid)Ability and willingness to work in various weather conditionsForklift experience or willingness to attend forklift training requiredHVAC experience is a plusVeterans are encouraged to apply, particularly those with Civil Engineering andor Electrical Power Production experienceCompensationThe technician will be a subcontractor under Harvey Power, paid hourly.Starting pay is based on experience, recommendations, and assigned location. Pay is then re-evaluated based on skill level and reliability after 30 days, 90 days, 6 months, 1 year, and annually thereafter.Overtime after 10 hours and weekend rates for any weekend work.Tuition for certain trainings and certifications provided by Harvey Power.As a guideline:$22 - $35 for 1 - 4 years experience$32 - $47 for 4+ years experienceHigher rates may apply for certain shorter-term assignmentsLower starting rates may apply for applicants requiring significant training
