We have the internal resources necessary to construct full turnkey railway projects for the Class 1, Shortline, and Industrial markets.Do you thrive on driving a solution focused environment?Are you committed to delivering outcomes that exceed expectations, every time?Do you make things happen, get the job done, no matter what?Our Project Engineers are responsible for ensuring the effective coordination and control of engineering works through activities of technical, engineering, inspection, scheduling, planning, survey, procurement, and quality control based on Martinus standards. Project Engineers ensure effective communication and coordination between all disciplines and all other project activities relevant to our work.Administration & Financial- Assist the contract administration, ensuring that Martinus' rights and obligations are exercised, and properrecords are kept.- Identify where change is instructed, or occurs without an instruction, that would constitute a variation or change of scope under the head contract.- Achieve agreement to variation prior to works occurring.- Understand sub-contract agreement conditions.Construction- Record progress against the 2 weeks look ahead program.- Ensure site diaries are completed on a daily basis.- Track the percentage of planned and unplanned activity undertaken and check that the planned works.- Resolve engineering issues as they arise i.e., construction methods, design, engineering procedures, etc.Forecasting & Preparation- Contribute to the development of the project plans.- Understand the requirements of the 6 weeks look ahead program and ensure that the 2 weeks look ahead program contains the required tasks.- Reviews design documents to achieve clarification and compliance with standards, specifications, and codes as well as adequacy of design documents for the purpose of construction.- Work with site supervisors to prepare a rolling 2 week look ahead program to show works being carried out, productivities, resources required, material deliveries.Health, Safety, Quality & Environment- Support the investigation of any near miss, incident, NCR, event that are class 2A or above.- Ensure all employees and visitors to the workplace are inducted adequately and are aware of relevant SQ&E responsibilitiesrisks.- Ensure that the requirements of the Project Safety Management Plan (PSMP) are complied with and that specific requirements are carried out.Be aware of project environment and sustainability KPIs and what measures are taken to achieve them.Formal Qualifications Required:- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or similar.Desirable:- Diploma of BuildingConstruction, Project Management or similar.Experience Required:- 2-5 years' experience in a constructionengineering environment.Desirable:- Engineering experience in a track construction environment.
