About the role Reporting directly to the Director of Electrical Engineering, the Electrical Engineering Program Manager presents a unique opportunity to work across stakeholders and groups, with high visibility in the organization and will have direct, tangible impact on our success. You will act as a primary Electrical Engineering SME to the business. Location/Travel: The Program Manager will be based at our Morristown, NJ HQ. This position requires close collaboration with corporate functions and facilities and will include ~20% travel across the network. Remote work option is available with some additional travel to Morristown and across the network. The compensation would vary depending on the location and remote work option. Core Focus: •Electrical engineering design aspects of capital projects, facility upgrades. •Electrical design support for Planned outages, and design requirements related to equipment troubleshooting. •Business development/expansion projects at various operating facilities across North America, including our Themo mechanical Treatment facilities, Material Processing facilities and our Metals Recovery facility. The Program Manager will also lead, manage, and execute multiple electrical projects/programs in the network. They will also provide subject matter expertise and lead cross functional teams while driving technical standardization as a guardian of certain Electrical Design Standards for Reworld. Acting as a potential mentor for the more junior members of the team, the Program Manager will share best practices and technical expertise. OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Electrical Design (Core Responsibility) •Independently Develop/Review/Approve Electrical System Design documents including One Line/Three Line Diagrams, Control Schematics, Wiring diagrams, Arc Flash, Short Circuit & Voltage Drop Calculations, Coordination Studies. •Develop scope of work for Electrical AE firms and coordinate with suppliers and contractors. •Plans design tasks so both the design and construction will be achieved within budget constraints and schedule. •May assume the duties of technical lead and subject matter expert for small to medium capital programs. •Electrical Design scope includes System Design, Scope Development, Engineering Calculations, Specifications, and Risk Assessments. Engineering Standards: (Core Responsibility) •Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making adaptations and modifications for engineering design. •Guardian of Key Electrical Design Standards/Specifications as SME for Reworld Electrical Team. •Update design standards and specifications periodically to keep up with the industry best practices, regulatory developments etc. Commissioning/Startup: •Provide SME design support to Project Managers on assigned construction projects. •Provide engineering support for commissioning and installations for assigned design projects. Troubleshooting/Problem Solving: •Provides Electrical Engineering design troubleshooting support to plant operations. •Analyze Electrical failure root causes and develop cost effective technical solutions for RCAs. REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION: Qualifications: •Minimum Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited Institution. •Minimum 15 years electrical engineering experience. •Registered Professional Engineer license required. •An ability to travel ~20% to various processing facilities. Experience: •Must have experience with High, Medium & Low Voltage distribution systems and electrical power generation in large utility power plants or large industrial co-generation facilities. Must be able to work on multiple concurrent projects with minimal supervision. •Must have proficiency in developing and understanding One Line/Three Line Diagrams, DC Control Schematics, Wiring diagrams, GA drawings related to interconnections, substations, power plants and electrical aspects of process plants including but not limited to motors, MCCs, PDCs and other electrical equipment. •Must have experience with all phases of a project including preliminary conceptual system design, scoping, detailed design, equipment selection, equipment testing and start-up problem resolution. The equipment includes substation equipment, power plant equipment and process plant equipment. The voltage ranges vary from HVAC(>100Kv) to low voltage(480V). •Experience with protective relaying schemes (Medium Voltage) including coordination and development of relay settings. SEL relays experience is highly preferred. •Proficiency in engineering software such as CAD/AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM Powertools, SEL Acselerator, etc. •Must have effective written and oral communication skills; must be able to analyze data, write technical reports, and develop work packages to implement recommendations and the ability to handle multiple assignments.
