Sr. Estimator

Geotex Construction Services, Inc. an Employee-Owned Company is seeking an experienced estimator to join our team. Geotex is a site development contractor serving Columbus and the surrounding area. We specialize in earthmoving, grading, underground utilities, and demolition for a wide range of projects.Responsibilities· Review of project plans, specification and contract documents to establish scope of work and quantity takeoffs to establish total project costs· Solicit quotes from subcontractors and vendors· Attend scope meetings related to project· Preparation of estimates for each phase of the designbuild or budget process as well as for negotiated or competitive bids.· Contribute to value engineering options to customers and owners to establish project value· Maintain positive relationships with customers· Collaborate with Project Manager during pre-bid and post-bid process regarding schedule, strategy, and buyout.· Complete quantity surveys and takeoffs of work· Prepares and executes estimates for proposed change orders· Verifies licensing and any additional requirementsQualifications· 2+ years' experience estimating with sitework utilities· Background of technical skills and understanding of excavation methods, contracts, and blueprints· Ability to build and maintain a positive working relationship with staff, vendors, and clients.· Estimating Software experience or exposure preferred· Exceptional time management and customer relation skills· High attention to detail· Microsoft Office proficiency· Knowledge of terminology within the work areaStrong Communication skillsPossess a high regard for safety in the workplaceTeam player that thrives in a fast-paced environmentCurrentValid driving recordGeotex Construction Services offers the following Benefits:ESOP- Employee-Owned CompanyCompetitive Pay (based on experience) with paid vacation and holidaysCompany sponsored healthdentalvisionlife insurance, 401k, and short term disabilityDiscretionary bonus, 401K match and ESOP participationWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer and a Drug Free WorkplaceYou can learn a little more about us and contact us on our website at
