Aquila's Fitness Coordinator assists in overseeing fitness center programs, assists members in safe and effective exercise and performs a wide range of technical exercise and administrative duties in healthfitness center. The location for this position is in the Brickell area. This is an in-person position.The pay rate for this position is $26.44hour, with a 32 hour work week, plus company benefits. Parking is coveredpaid. The work hours are Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with a total of 32 work hours weekly. You can also earn personal training commissions of 50% of any package sold and trained, during regular work hours in addition to the hourly rate. There is no work on Fridays, or weekends. You will enjoy all of the following benefits at Aquila:Medical, dental, and vision coverageLife and Disability coverageTwo weeks paid vacation and paid sick leaveAll site holidays paidTuition reimbursementContinuing education reimbursementsService bonusesCommuter pre-tax benefitsFitness retailers discount programs401k plan with company matchMonday to Friday schedule, no weekend workResponsibilities include:Act as liaison on-site with Aquila's client contactTo make recommendations and assist in the formulation of fitness center policies and plansTo supervise and monitor exercise participants, perform exercise assessments, and exercise prescriptionTo teach group fitness movement classesConduct personal fitness training sessions with members of fitness centerTo assist with selection and supervision of group fitness instructors when neededPrepare reports as needed regarding the fitness center operationsSupervise exercise areasEducate members concerning safe exercise techniquesPerform exercise assessments and prescribe exercise upon American College of Sports Medicine guidelinesConduct safe and effective assessments including cardiovascular, strength, flexibility and body composition analysis; evaluate and interpret data and identify high risk participants and special populationsAid members - spotting and equipment usageExplain all equipmentEnsure the maintenance, cleanliness and safety of all equipmentAdhere to departmental and club policies and proceduresAdhere to client's policies and proceduresAttend staff meetingsAssist in wellness and fitness promotions and external eventsPerform daily administrative dutiesQualifications:Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Health Promotion or closely related area, OR an active NCCA accredited National Fitness Certification - (ACE, ACSM, NSCA, NASM, NCSF, NCCPT or AFAA) Active CPRBLS certification1+3 years fitness experienceSkills required:Strong organizational and managerial skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsCustomer service orientedComputer knowledge: Microsoft Office Products & Network InternetModern principles and practices of organization, administration, budget, and managementActs with a sense of urgencyExcellent communication, organizational and management skillsDetail oriented, punctual and motivatingAll candidates must be able to complete a criminal background check.
