Seeking a paralegal to support a team of lawyers with a variety of tasks and responsibilities in the discovery and litigation process, including the day-to-day case management, preparing and monitoring calendar deadlines, and assisting with all aspects of pre-trial and trial preparation. Successful paralegal candidates are professional and courteous with a positive can-do attitude, proactive self-starters with demonstrated experience managing multiple ongoing complex cases, and detail oriented with strong writing, proofreading, and communication skills. Candidate should be comfortable supervising trial teams with minimal guidance and supervision.Job FunctionsPerforms trial preparation and provides trial supportAssists with fact research and deposition preparationProofreads and cite checks documentsAssists with court filingsMonitors and maintains multiple document repositoriesMentors and trains the litigation support clerksPerforms all aspects of discovery including responding to e-discovery responses and propounding discoveryOther tasks as needed and as assigned by supervisors, attorneys, or partnersRequirements1-3 years of experience working in a complex civil litigation practice (preferably, but not required, experience in a trial boutique law firm representing high-profile clients).Bachelor's degree with signed declaration or paralegal certificateExperience preparing for and attending trialsarbitrationhearingsExperience coordinating trialarbitration logistics, including negotiating for war room spaces, and coordinating with vendorsExperience utilizing applicable litigation support software (e.g. Westlaw, Lexis Nexis, Pacer, Case Notebook)Experience using e-discovery review platforms, particularly RelativityProficient in Word, Excel, and all Microsoft Office applicationsAble to travel to, and provide support at, off-site trials and arbitrationAdditional hours (including overtime) will be required on occasionExcellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skillsAble to work in a team environment and maintain a positive attitude and calm demeanorStrong computer skills and attention to detailExcellent time management skills. Must effectively prioritize workprojects and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
