Job Title: Mechanical Technician IIIDepartment: Project AssemblyReports To: Project Assembly SupervisorSummaryThe Mechanical Technician III job is a senior role responsible for adding mechanical options to new and used CNC equipment as well as being able to perform rebuilds on various CNC equipment with minimal direction.The technician must be able to handle complex mechanical projects and follow all safety guidelines.Essential duties and responsibilitiesInterpret complex blueprints and drawings.Effectively prioritize work assignments and demonstrate good time management.Observe proper safety procedures in a machine shop environment.Ability to perform all work while following LOTO safety requirements, OSHA standards and NFPA 70 E.Aligning machines and equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, lasers, and plumb bobs.Safely operate forklifts and overhead crane systems including proper rigging safety guide lines.Ability to assemble components using various hand and power tools according to specifications.Perform basic and complex geometry procedures when realigning machine axis's including 5 axis and more.General CNC programing and machine operation, trouble shooting, option setup, parameters and keep relay settings.Redline existing drawings and follow-up with engineering department verifying changes terface with all departments, as necessary to provide good communication throughout the project.Responsible for the cleaning of incoming rebuild or used equipment.Read and follow assembly prints, hydraulic, pneumatic schematics while performing the assigned tasks.Take responsibility for adding mechanical options to new and used CNC equipment.Must be able to work overtime and weekends when required.Minimal travel both domestic and international required.Other duties as assignment by managementSenior Mechanical Duties Preferred Trouble Shoot potential issues and provide feasible solutions.Be able to perform simple electrical tasks as they ariseProvide communication to other departments regarding current projectsPerform quality checks on machine installationsQualifications Be able to use basic measuring devices, including dial indicators, caliper, micrometer, laser measurement tools and ball bar test equipment.Qualified in rigging and operation of companies puter skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.Good Communication skills.Proficient with assembly prints, hydraulic pneumatic schematics to determine work and operational requirements.Ability to read bill of materials and apply items properly to the build.Knowledge of CNC controls both Fanuc and Siemens (M-functions and some G-Code).Ability to adapt to a changing environment.Education ExperienceHS Diploma or higher degree.Trade school, journeyman or military certification in a mechanical trade preferred.Experience in an industrial environment.Experience in the machine tool industry or other metal-cutting industry is preferred.Physical DemandsTo perform this job successfully, the physical demands listed are representative of those that must be met by an employee.
