STAFFING AGENCIES AND RECRUITING FIRMS - PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT BAKE'N JOY FOR THIS ROLE Central Regional Sales Manager - Foodservice Classification: Exempt (under the Fair Labor Standards Act - FLSA) Reports To: Director of Foodservice Sales JD Review Date: September 2024 Job Summary/Objective: The Regional Sales Manager - Foodservice is responsible for managing customer activities, broker networks, and executing strategic sales plans in the Western PA, Western NY, OH, IN, KY and MI markets. The role focuses on driving sales growth, optimizing revenue, and building brand awareness for Bake'n Joy products. The manager will work closely with the national broker, distributors, and key operator accounts to maintain existing business and identify opportunities for new product placements. The position requires participation in industry and local trade shows, overseeing customer accounts, and ensuring the achievement of sales targets. Essential Functions: Broker Management: Manage and execute local broker objectives in the assigned region, focusing on revenue optimization and sales volume growth. Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key operators and distributors, continuously servicing their needs and expanding BNJ's customer base. Sales Strategy: Design and implement local market sales strategies that align with the national strategic plan. Negotiate and optimize local distributor and operator programs. New Business Development: Identify key operator target accounts and explore new product opportunities. Actively seek new business through networking, local broker relationships and trade shows. Sales Reporting & CRM: Maintain detailed and timely records of customer interactions, pipeline opportunities, and sales progress in CRM (FSE). Submit monthly sales reports, including wins/losses, opportunity pipelines, and competitor insights. Territory Expansion: Develop and present territory expansion strategies to the Director of Foodservice. Market Intelligence: Stay updated with competitor activity, industry trends, and emerging market opportunities. Expense Management: Submit weekly expense reports in a timely manner, ensuring accurate and detailed financial tracking. Brand Representation: Act as a brand ambassador for BNJ, upholding the company's mission and values in all customer and industry engagements. Competencies: Sales & Negotiation Expertise: Proven ability to manage complex sales negotiations and influence key decision-makers. Strategic Thinking & Planning: Ability to develop and implement sales strategies aligned with business goals. Customer-Centric Approach: Strong focus on building and maintaining relationships to meet customer needs. Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze sales data, trends, and market conditions to inform decision-making. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including delivering presentations to various stakeholders. CRM Proficiency: Experience using CRM software to track sales pipelines and customer interactions. Update CRM system with customer interactions on a weekly basis Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. Supervisory Responsibilities: No direct reports, but will coordinate and collaborate with regional broker networks to achieve sales objectives. Work Environment: Primarily remote or office-based work, with frequent travel to customer sites, trade shows, and industry events. Occasional work in customer facilities, such as foodservice kitchens, where exposure to temperature variations, noise, and equipment is possible. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Frequent standing, sitting, and driving. Position Type: Full-Time Work Hours: Monday to Friday, with occasional evening or weekend work depending on client needs or event schedules. Overtime may be required during busy sales cycles or major industry events. Travel: Travel up to 50%, primarily within the assigned region, with overnight travel to attend trade shows, customer meetings and industry conferences. Required Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. 8+ years of sales experience, with a minimum of 3 years managing broker network. Proven relationships with national and regional distributors and regional chain accounts Strong understanding of the foodservice channel, including key industry segments (Healthcare, College & University, Casino, Regional Chain Accounts). Preferred Education & Experience: Experience in sales forecasting and expense management for a defined territory. Familiarity with the baking category and foodservice operations. Culinary experience is a plus.
