Job Summary: The Branch Manager directs all activities of a single store location and is responsible for P & L. In coordination with the Division Manager, establishes sales and profitability goals, manages proper fleet levels, is responsible for the effective leadership of branch employees, and drives a safety-first culture. Plans and establishes systems to control expenses at the branch location. Ensures high operations excellence standards, through equipment availability and reliability to customers 24/7 that supports customer service. This position is responsible for all activities at the store location, including P & L. Establishes sales and profitability goals, and manages proper fleet levels. Plans direct, and coordinates all rental equipment operations within the branch-supervised Leads sales and marketing initiatives, market share, and customer retention Recruits, trains, develops, and retains qualified employees. Essential Functions: Management of branch operations and personnel Assist with equipment demonstrations and technical support Sales and marketing initiatives, market share, and customer retention Establishes high safety standards for audits, training, and compliance with State, Federal, OSHA, and DOT regulations, drug and alcohol testing, and the safe equipment maintenance program within the branch Recruit, train, develop, and retention of qualified Communicate job expectations and foster a climate conducive to optimizing performance and outcomes Collaborate with Regional Sales Manager, and Division Sales Manager as available, to facilitate sales training as needed, promote a thorough understanding of market conditions including current customers, potential customers, and competitors for assigned territory, and design and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue goals Competitive pricing with existing market conditions, product quantities available, and product quality to provide customers with an affordable, yet competitively priced product Plans, directs, and coordinates all rental equipment operations within the branch-supervised Fosters a customer-focused approach to sales and service Reviews product offerings and optimizes profitable market share growth and financial performance Ensures accurate financial reporting and budget preparation Driven and results-oriented; business development and KPIs to meet corporate targets Performs other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong technical aptitude and understanding of the construction equipment and rental industry Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems Exceptional attention to detail Coaching/mentoring experience with branch personnel Excellent oral and written communication skills First-class presentation skills before both small and large groups Exceptional organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills Ability to work with all levels of personnel within the organization and customer operations The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects Ability to understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division quickly and accurately Ability to interpret extensive technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and understand several abstract variables Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Administration, or Construction Management preferred Five or more years of experience in business management and/or operational management with increasingly progressive job scope and responsibilities Three to five years of retail or store management experience Proficiency in MS Office, with an emphasis in Excel and Outlook, and the use of computer applications Valid driver's license Supervisory Responsibilities: This position directs and manages the Rental Services Inside Sales staff, Yard staff, and if applicable other Rental Services Management (e.g. Parts, Service, & Transportation management team). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and development; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Travel: Up to 30% travel Physical Requirements: This position involves extended periods in a stationary position; additionally, occasional movement inside the office to access office machinery, file cabinets, This role frequently communicates with others, and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines Must be able to move objects, and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue Frequently moves materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina Ascend/descend with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet and climbing up and down the ladder Be able to safely maneuver and work underneath equipment Routinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work Safety training required; PPE required outside of office/parking lot area Disclaimer: Please note that the above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this classification.
