With our continued growth and mission focus we are looking to add a Compliance Background Screening Specialist to our team in the NYC Manhattan office. The Background Screening Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining the compliance of the background and drug screening program at Arrow Security. The role is expected to serve as a subject matter expert, collaborating with various internal stakeholders, departments and, as necessary, clients. Essential Job Duties Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to background checks and drug screening protocols ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Identify and manage relationships with third-party background check and drug screening service providers, ensuring they meet quality and compliance standards. Work closely with HR, legal, and compliance teams to ensure processes support hiring and regulatory needs. Provide training for HR staff and hiring managers on the background check process, including how to interpret results and handle discrepancies. Assess risks associated with background checks, such as consumer reporting and data privacy concerns, and develop strategies to mitigate those risks. Analyze background check data to identify trends, compliance issues, and areas for process improvement, and report findings to leadership. Serve as a subject matter expert to external clients as needed, providing clarification, suggestions and program details. Continuously evaluate and enhance the background check process to improve efficiency, accuracy, and candidate experience. Ensure ongoing compliance with relevant laws and regulations, conducting audits of background check processes as needed. Manage the pre-adverse/adverse notification and dispute process as required under the FCRA. Partner with drug screening vendor(s) to ensure adherence to all federal, state and local laws, including the MRO process, is followed. Position Requirements 3-5 years experience administering background checks and drug screening checks Demonstrated knowledge of consumer data privacy, Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) guidelines. Understand background check and drug screening procedures and relevant laws. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database software. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Criminal Justice, or relevant field is preferred.
