Description We are seeking an RF Telecommunications Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing the use of the radio frequency spectrum, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing voice communication service channels between pilots and controllers. The engineer will work on spectrum-related initiatives across various projects, collaborating with regulatory bodies, engineering teams, and project managers. Primary Responsibilities: Identify and resolve technical issues related to communication networks and Radio Frequency Interference (RFI). Conduct site surveys, spectrum analysis, and RF testing to assess and resolve interference issues. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve interference-related challenges. Perform spectrum monitoring and analysis to detect unauthorized spectrum usage and ensure compliance. Develop technical reports and documentation for interference analysis and resolution strategies. Participate in the development of policies and procedures for spectrum management. Stay up-to-date with communication technologies, industry trends, and standards related to RF interference and spectrum management. Provide training and support to field teams on RFI detection and mitigation techniques. Ensure adherence to national and international spectrum regulations. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or related field. 3-5 years of experience in RF engineering with a focus on RFI mitigation. Strong knowledge of RF principles, antenna theory, signal propagation, and spectrum analysis. Experience using RF testing tools. Familiarity with FCC regulations and industry standards related to RF interference. Excellent problem-solving skills and communication abilities. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Telecommunications or related field. Professional certifications in RF or telecommunications engineering. Experience with cellular network design, 4G/5G technologies, satellite communications, and microwave link design. Knowledge of software tools such as RF simulation programs. Please Note: If selected for this position, you will be required to commute to the FAA location in Washington, DC at least 3 times a week. Pay Range: $68,900.00 - $124,550.00 The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement, or other law.
