Position Summary The Processing Planning Specialist will support the Processing Manager in scheduling and distributing work for production. This role encompasses coordination of collecting, reviewing, and executing data and movement of materials for on time delivery. This includes, but is not limited to, order entry, preparation of production plans, control of production schedules, tracking inventory transactions within ERP system, tracking project timelines, and ensuring a smooth transition from planning to finish product. What Youll Do Foster a culture of safety awareness & safety prioritization that ensures compliance. Ensure that quality standards are met, champion quality ownership of work center. Enforce all company rules, policies, and procedures; communicate concerns with division management and/or Corporate. Enter all orders received from the customer into the database. Contract review of purchase orders and technical data to ensure all contract criteria are met. Assist in the preparation of production plans and control of production schedules. Create and distribute work order packages to ensure a controlled flow of approved material (raw materials, work in progress and finish products) in time to meet production requirements. Coordinate movement of materials with Purchasing, Production, Shipping/Receiving. Release requisitions to Purchasing for new customer orders released. Develop and update shortages lists for production plans. Track inventory transactions in ERP system and record keeping / filing in support of Planning functions. Carry out analysis and reporting to support forecasting activities. Help in scheduling and tracking project timelines. Track and communicate status of work in progress, material availability, and escalate potential problems. Liaise with cross-functional team-members across the business on an ongoing basis on project updates and continuous improvement initiatives. Experience and Certifications Demonstrated skill using Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel is required. Demonstrated skill using ERP software a plus. Prior experience with government or military and defense contract review a plus. Background/exposure to ISOor other quality system preferred. Blueprint and drawing interpretation a plus. Prior experience with metal processing (oxy cutting, plasma cutting, waterjet, forming, welding, etc.) a plus. Experience in a Manufacturing facility is a plus. Critical Competencies Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently and shift priorities when necessary. Attention to detail and methods for ensuring accuracy. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must possess an energetic and positive attitude and be willing to change and develop as the requirements of assigned tasks dictate. High-energy, adaptability and team oriented. Capable of maintaining a professional demeanor and ability to respectfully diffuse sensitive situations. Possess the ability to always maintain confidentiality and discretion and handle sensitive information with confidentiality and tact. Education Requirements A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent such as a GED, is required. Bachelors or Associates Degree is highly preferred. Technical school and/or practical experience is highly preferred. Close mental and visual attention required, coordinating manual dexterity with mental and visual attention for sustained periods of time.
