Business Manager Job Description Division/Department: Operations Reporting Relationship: Director/Finance Operations Compensation Structure: Salary + Bonus Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Business Manager to oversee the operational and business affairs aspects of our flagship location in NW Portland's Slabtown neighborhood. The focus of this role is on achieving results that are aligned with the larger strategic goals of the organization. A strategic problem-solver, with attention to detail, and ability to multi-task is key to achieving the performance objectives of this position. The Business Manager will be responsible for office management, facilities, equipment, inventory and ordering, staff administration support, dashboard metrics. Organization, accuracy and detail-orientation, along with high EQ, will be crucial in implementing practical, timely solutions that ensure the smooth functioning of daily operations and maintain high standards of service delivery. This role requires someone who can get things done quickly and accurately while maintaining the strategic and creative vision of the company. The Business Manager will uphold high standards business integrity with staff, clients and vendors. The emphasis is on clear communication, accountability and effective operational systems that achieve these results through collaboration and leadership. Key Responsibilities: • Support the General Manager with day-to-day operations and business affairs of the Slabtown location, including scheduling, staffing, facility, ordering and office management. • Support the Director of Finance Operations with light bookkeeping, business metrics, cash sales reconciliation and AP/AR. • Ensure compliance with company policies, health, and safety regulations, and industry standards. • Optimize operational processes to enhance efficiency, productivity, and client satisfaction and retention. • Oversee facility and equipment maintenance to create a clean, safe and welcoming environment for clients and staff. • Maintain and protect the desired branded customer experience. • Monitor and manage inventory levels of supplies and retail products to maintain a 'right-sized' level of inventory based on sales levels. • HR admin support for a team of wellness professionals, supporting staff onboarding, benefits and training. • Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement business strategies to achieve growth and profitability goals. • Help resolve client/vendor inquiries, feedback, and concerns in a professional and timely manner. • Manage and audit company A/R, medical billing, operational budgets and daily closeout reports, ensuring financial objectives are met. Key Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Hospitality Management or a related field preferred. • Proven experience in operations/office management within a clinic, spa or hospitality setting. • Shows initiative, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail • Excellent communication, time management, organizational and follow-up skills • Demonstrates integrity and ability to act in a truthful manner, to present accurate and appropriate information and to exercise excellent judgment in regard to confidential information • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements. • Experience with inventory management, scheduling software, and financial budgeting. • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with industry-specific software. • Alignment with Root's mission and values Preferred Qualifications: • Certification in Health/Wellness Management, Hospitality Management or related field. • Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) systems. • Passion for holistic health and wellness practices.
