Delivers superior service to maximize sales, customer satisfaction and retention. Communicates with customer to determine banking needs. Generates referrals that result in sales for the Bank. Accurately balances a cash drawer and shows responsibility in handling cash and Bank securities on a daily basis. Performs over-the-counter banking transactions in accordance with Bank productivity standards. General functions include: Accepting DDA, savings deposits Cashing various types of checks within established authority Processing withdrawals or advances from various accounts within established authority Accepting payments for loans and safe deposit rentals Processing customer requests for exchange transactions, currency/coin, foreign currency and traveler's checks Submits customer items for processing Performs and models service standards in interactions with customers. May have responsibility for managing or assisting with transactions dealing with the vault. Responds to customer questions, referring or escalating customers as necessary. Educates and directs customers to appropriate delivery channels. Builds long-term relationships with Bank customers by providing individualized service. Recognizes and uses cross-sales opportunities to generate qualified referrals. Supports and participates in Bank sales campaigns. Contributes to teamwork by assisting and supporting Bank staff as appropriate. Works efficiently to minimize operating losses and cash differences. Maximizes fee collections. Has responsibility for following regulatory requirements including those pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Customer Identification Program (CIP), and OFAC to assist in the identification, detection and determent of money laundering or other unlawful activities. Utilizes inside training opportunities to expand knowledge and experience of the Teller function. Performs other duties as required. Requirements Must be a high school graduate or equivalent. A minimum of 1 years' Teller experience. A general knowledge of basic mathematical calculations and techniques is required. An overall knowledge of typical bank-related products and services is strongly preferred. Customer relations experience would be helpful in dealing with customer assistance and satisfaction. Bank operations exposure would be an asset in understanding why procedures are required. Strong math skills are required. The ability to balance transactions and utilize strategies for balancing transactions is essential. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees and management. A professional appearance and demeanor is required. Proficiency with Windows-based computer systems and various financial-related software is required. Physical Demands/Work Environment Requirements: Vision, hearing, speech, movements requiring the use of wrists, hands and/or fingers. Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, bend and lift up to 50 pounds. Must have the ability to work the days and hours required to fulfill the essential functions of the position. Mental Demands: Learning, thinking, concentration, the ability to interact with others, the ability to exercise self-control, and the ability to work under stressful conditions, particularly in customer relations' situations are necessary. Must have the ability to make decisions and exercise discretion when necessary.
