POSITION SUMMARY The Buchanan YMCA is seeking On-Call After School Program Leaders to sub at any of the following program sites: John Muir Elementary School Beacon - 380 Webster St, San Francisco, CA 94117 Dr. William L. Cobb Elementary School Beacon - 2725 California St, San Francisco, CA 94115 Rosa Parks Elementary School - 1501 O'Farrell St, San Francisco, CA 94115 Chinese Immersion School - 1250 Waller St, San Francisco, CA 94117 New Traditions Elementary School - 2049 Grove St, San Francisco, CA 94117 The After School Program Leader provides meaningful and enriching opportunities for youth in YMCA programs that are offered at local elementary and middle schools. The Program Leader will help students develop and strengthen academic, physical, and social skills through tutoring and mentorship. Program Leaders will provide academic enrichment and tutoring in classroom groups of up to 20 students, as well as organize and provide outdoor recreational activities in the school yards. Individuals hired for this position will work under the supervision of the Program Site Coordinators and Directors, and will need to be flexible, willing to take initiative, be punctual, and able to make a commitment to work throughout the entire school year. After School Program dates: must be able to work August 19, 2024 - June 4, 2025 Salary Range: $19.50 to $22.00 per hour MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 18+ years of age for elementary school programs, 21+ years for middle school programs Associate's degree or higher, or High School diploma/equivalent, plus any of following: Completed 48 college units verified by transcript Passed CA Basic Education Skills Test (CBEST) Passed District Instructional Aide Exam Experience working with youth (elementary or middle school) Highly motivated to provide quality program opportunities to youth Team player Knowledge or expertise in youth development Comfortable leading physical activities with youth Available daily Monday-Friday during youth program hours; shifts vary ~1:00-6:00 pm Willing to participate in bi-annual evaluations and supervision meetings as needed Current YMCA approved CPR and First Aid certification (training available upon hire) TB Test clearance Fingerprint background check clearance PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Child Development or related field Bilingual skills in Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, or other languages strongly preferred Knowledge of arts, dance, drama, or sports Connections in the local community
