About the job Linux Systems Administrator (TS/SCI w FSP) Northwest Talent Solutions is a leading Technology, Finance, and Healthcare staffing/recruiting and HR/DEI consulting firm partnering with outstanding clients within the private industry and public sector. Currently, we are partnered with a preferred client in the intelligence community in search of a highly talented Systems Administrator (Linux) with TS/SCI w FSP clearance. Job Summary: Our client seeks a Linux Systems Administrator for a long-term contract supporting the intelligence community. The role involves installing, configuring, operating, and maintaining both Windows- and Linux-based architectures. The successful candidate will focus on improving platform stability and performance, maintaining and enhancing security, monitoring system health, and troubleshooting issues. Key Duties & Responsibilities: Provide daily operational support for Linux and Microsoft Windows operating systems and applications Support virtual and physical infrastructure of servers running CentOS in dev, test, and production configurations Develop and maintain environments running in Amazon Web Services (AWS) Monitor security feeds and dashboards to maintain system integrity and security Develop and maintain standards and procedures for applications across a complex computing infrastructure Create and maintain comprehensive documentation Monitor application and OS performance; analyze, document, and remediate incidents Develop and oversee implementation of testing strategies Leverage scripting and system automation tools Research and recommend hardware and software, coordinate installation, and provide backup recovery Collaborate with system administrators, engineers, and clients for proper application integration Qualifications: Active TS/SCI w FS Poly clearance Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience Extensive experience with Redhat and/or CentOS Demonstrated experience with VMWare ESXi infrastructure 6.x + vCenter server, host clustering with HA, DRS, replication Proven experience in server builds using automated mechanisms Strong expertise with Ansible and/or Puppet Experience with Ansible playbooks for virtual and physical instance provisioning, configuration management, and patching Proficiency in building, upgrading, and maintaining applications and services in AWS Experience with code maintenance using Git, GitLab, and/or GitHub Familiarity with Atlassian Jira and Confluence Experience managing Elasticsearch on CentOS Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Deep technical knowledge of systems, networks, and application security Solid understanding of enterprise-level security frameworks, policies, processes, and standards Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting complex issues Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Excellent collaboration skills to work with various IT professionals Proficiency in scripting and automation tools Strong documentation skills Screening Questions: Do you have an active TS/SCI w FSP clearance?
