Job Title : Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Pay Rate : $20/hour Location: Indianapolis, Indiana Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated technician to monitor and maintain machinery and equipment in a fast-paced plant environment. This role involves conducting daily checks, performing preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting issues to enhance operational efficiency. The technician will also develop technical documentation, support new projects, and ensure adherence to safety and standard operating procedures. Strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with team members are essential. Job Duties: Monitor and maintain machinery, equipment, and processes to ensure safe and efficient plant operations. Conduct daily equipment checks and optimize performance through preventive and predictive maintenance. Identify root causes of failures and implement long-term solutions to recurring issues. Develop and maintain technical documentation and in-house knowledge bases to enhance departmental efficiency. Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the assigned area. Perform general production maintenance as directed by the supervisor. Assist in machinery reports and conduct thorough preventive maintenance checks as scheduled. Provide support for new projects. Follow the preventive maintenance plan for new equipment according to manufacturer recommendations and maintain an inventory of necessary supplies. Track spare stock of maintenance items. Maintain cleanliness in the shop. Ensure professional interactions with all employees, including co-workers, supervisors, and management. Uphold safety standards related to daily tasks, including PPE and GMPs, and perform other duties as assigned. Requirements: Ability to lift 60 lbs and possess the physical capability to perform job duties. Strong technical skills, including basic electrical knowledge, proficiency with mechanical and electrical systems, and an understanding of plant design and utility engineering standards. Proficient troubleshooting skills. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Capacity to stand or sit for extended periods. Willingness to work in varying temperatures and environments. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and basic math skills; ability to learn and apply policies and procedures. Experience in a fast-paced environment with effective multitasking and prioritization skills. Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to follow directions and interact positively with others. Willingness to work overtime as needed and demonstrate a strong commitment to job performance and attendance. High school diploma or GED required.
