Job Description Field Service Engineer One of my best clients, a leading precision CNC cutting tool manufacturer, is seeking a Remote Senior Service Engineer. A bit about the company: For over 40 years, they have been a leading producer of CNC Machines/machine tools worldwide, making top-of-the-line machines, 5-axis, etc. They are recession-durable (they didn't lay off anyone during COVID-19). The role is remote. Travel to the immediate area. It's conceivable to be gone on Monday and back by Friday at 5 p.m., but if you're near a dense metro area, travel is mainly within a one-hour radius of the metro area, rarely out of state, so at times, they are likely home most nights. They don't work on weekends or holidays. Company truck, laptop, toolkit, iPad, Amex. Some Service Engineers, 5-10 years in, salaries escalated as they progressed, are making $200k+ because they are self-initiating. They are more likely to research than make a call and jump in from start to finish independently. Put to bed. They are passionate about self-improvement and read pertinent articles. If there's a customer challenge at 5 p.m., do Do you crack open a manual or a beer? They are looking for mechanical competence, the kind you're born with. Sure, if you know what a spindle is, floating a ball screw in while installing to get alignment, then stretching it with a spacer to OEM specifications, changed out a drive or a servo motor, have 5-axis repair experience, and have knowledge of headstock alignment and leveling, you're the guy. Plus, they need to see recent tangible competence with controls like Fanuc, Mitsubishi, AB, Siemens, etc., and tangibles, certifications, etc. Resumes may be confidentially submitted to All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, age, color, sex (including pregnancy), religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, military status, genetic information, or any other status protected by applicable laws or regulations.
