Kennedys, a Legal 500 and Chambers-ranked global firm serving insurers and the London market , is seeking a Mid-Level Associate or Special Counsel Attorney with insurance coverage litigation experience to join its New York team. In this role, the attorney will represent insurance companies in coverage disputes and advise insurance companies in a variety of coverage matters. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing global law firm. Candidates should have a strong litigation background, with experience analyzing coverage issues, drafting coverage opinions, pleadings, and dispositive motions, and conducting discovery in insurance coverage litigation and other commercial litigation. The ideal candidate also will have taken and defended depositions, attended court conferences, and argued motions. The annualized salary range for this role is $125,000-$210,000; however, actual salary is contingent upon level of experience, practice group, location and other job-related factors permitted by law. Required experience Minimum of 3 years of law firm insurance coverage' and litigation experience Must be licensed in New York Licensed in New Jersey, Pennsylvania or Delaware a huge plus Superior research, writing and communication skills Experience analyzing insurance policies and other relevant contracts Ability to handle all phases of the litigation process including drafting motions, pleadings, initial disclosures, discovery demands, discovery responses and other court documents Experience in drafting settlement agreements, taking depositions, conference and handling appeals Proven and solid courtroom experience, conferences and handling appeals Arbitration and/or trial experience is beneficial Please let us know if you require any reasonable adjustments or additional support in order to submit your application to Kennedys. * where a level of experience is indicated, this is a guideline only and represents the amount of time we would usually expect a candidate to accumulate the requisite level of experience.
