Job Title Mechanical Engineer Location Warner Robins, GA 31095 US (Primary) Category Engineering Job Type Full-Time Job Description Duties and Responsibilities Serves as an Aerospace Engineer in C-130 Structures Engineering, AFLCMC/WLNE, C-130 Hercules Division. Mastery of the theories, principals, practices, methods, and techniques of aerospace structural engineering is required to rapidly and authoritatively provide C-130 fleet support. This position is responsible for C-130 structural engineering support to the field users, C-130 depot repairs, and DLA requests. This includes response to field requests for engineering disposition and repair tooling development, safety investigations, engineering support for major structural modifications, and configuration definition and First Article response activities for DLA procurements. These duties are critical to assisting USAF C-130 units in meeting Airworthiness and Operational Safety, Suitability, & Effectiveness (OSS&E) requirements. Job Requirements Qualifications Requires a bachelor's degree and/ or Masters in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics. Must have or be able to obtain secret clearance. Must have C-130 experience. Physical Requirements The physical demands described herein are representative of those which must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Employees must possess the ability to work in a standard office or conference room setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer. To visit other company sites, employees must be able to operate a motor vehicle and fly in an aircraft, both of which may require sitting for prolonged periods of time. Employees must possess vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups and over the telephone. Standing in work areas and walking between work areas will be required. This position requires an employee to occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance; reach, push, and pull drawers and doors open and closed.
