Position Type: Administration Date Posted: 9/30/2024 Location: District Date Available: 10/22/2024 Closing Date: 10/14/2024 SUPERVISOR OF EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION PEA Funded Position Summary: The Supervisor of Preschool Programs will provide leadership in curriculum, instruction, assessment, program supervision, budget development, and the evaluation of instructional staff. This position will work closely with building administrators to align with the district's educational goals and objectives. As a key resource for teachers and administrators, the Supervisor will ensure effective delivery of preschool education, compliance with state standards, and continuous program improvement. The district is seeking a Supervisor of Early Childhood Education , and candidates may apply for either an interim or permanent role. The interim candidate will temporarily fulfill the responsibilities of the position while the district continues its search for a permanent hire. However, candidates for the permanent position are also welcome to apply. Key Responsibilities: A. Supervision & Evaluation: Staff Supervision & Development: Supervise and evaluate preschool teaching and support staff. Collaborate with principals and central office to assess and recommend candidates for staff vacancies. Analyze student assessment data to design and implement professional development opportunities. Stay updated on changes in teaching standards and evaluation tools, identifying best practices. Support teachers in setting and achieving Student Growth Objectives (SGOs). Pursue ongoing professional development. Curricular Program Oversight: Implement district curricula that incorporate state content standards. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and review curricula, making recommendations for revisions. Monitor program delivery and recommend improvements. Assist in preparing federal, state, and local reports, including grant applications. Support principals in interdisciplinary education, student assessments, and scheduling. Recommend and manage resources, materials, and supplies to enhance program effectiveness. B. Budget & Financial Management: Budget Development & Management: Lead budget development for preschool programs, collaborating with the Director of Special Services and central office. Oversee the purchasing and distribution of materials and supplies. Maintain accurate inventories of equipment and resources, using data to project future needs. C. Community & Professional Relations: Engagement & Collaboration: Participate in professional associations, community meetings, and committees. Promote program strengths and needs to the community. Identify and recruit community resources to enhance the learning environment. Support and attend department and student program events. D. Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned by the Director of Special Services or their designee. Reports To: Director of Special Services or their designee. Qualifications: New Jersey Supervisor Certification. Master's Degree in a relevant discipline. Experience in a P-3 setting, with successful supervisory experience preferred. Strong management, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, parents, and community stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to analyze situations and implement effective actions. Alternatives to the above qualifications may be considered by the Superintendent. This role is essential to ensuring the success and continuous improvement of the district's preschool programs while fostering a collaborative and supportive environment for staff and students.
