Summary: Responsible for the operation, staffing and quality of services provided in Arc GLOW Supervised and Supportive Individualized Residential Alternatives (IRA's), ensuring that they operate in accordance with Federal and State regulations and agency policies and procedures. Essential Functions: Develop, implement and monitor the Residential Habilitation plan and IPOP with the program planning team and person receiving services Implement the Life Plan as developed for each person supported by his/her family advocate and Care Coordinator Ensure that the medical needs of people we serve are met by ensuring the following: medical appointments are scheduled, making arrangements to ensure proper transportation to the appointments, communicating all necessary information to nursing staff, the Care Coordinator, family advocate, residential staff and scheduling follow up or referral appointment as needed Coordinate transportation, as needed for people receiving services Responsible for ensuring that the financial matters of each person supported are handled within agency procedures, including management of the personal needs Responsible for the hiring, orientation and ongoing training, supervision and evaluation of all direct support staff, including the Assistant Residential Manager. Works with the Clinical services nurse to supervise and evaluate the performance of all medication administration certified staff, including developing and monitoring corrective action plans as needed, in conformance with agency policy and procedures Responsible for the scheduling of direct support staff, ensuring that the number and types of staff assigned are adequate to meet the needs of the individuals we support. Participates in on-call duties as assigned. Become certified in medication administration and maintain certification on an annual basis Provide direct support services, as needed Complete monthly paperwork accurately (i.e. attendance records, petty cash, med fund, gas fund, monthly receipts, personal allowance records, etc.) Ensure residential habilitation services are documented in accordance with Agency, OPWDD and Medicaid requirements Ensure that the agency vehicles are maintained and required transportation paperwork is complete, per policy Prepare and submit management reports, as requested/needed Responsible for ensuring site is managed within budget Responsible for upkeep of the residence, including requisitioning of maintenance for repairs to certified homes Responsible for ensuring that there are adequate and appropriate recreational activities in the community scheduled for people supported year round Responsible for overseeing that the nutritional needs of the people supported are met and that there are balanced and healthy menus prepared or available for people supported who prepare their own meals Other related duties as assigned Participates in quality improvement, as well as corporate compliance activity as needed. Demonstrates adherence to the DSP Code of Ethics and Core Competencies. Non Essential Functions: Supports best practices and changing service delivery in response to changing consumer and/or staff needs. Strives for satisfaction from people served as well as employees. Participates in agency meetings as needed to further enhance service role and identify needs. Professionally conducts self in promoting, contributing to, and implementing the mission, philosophy and policies of the Agency. Interactions with people supported, their families, employees and in the community are to be respectful and demonstrate professionalism, courtesy and consideration. Agency, people supported, and employee confidentiality are maintained at all times. Serves on agency committees as assigned/requested. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent with 5 years' experience working with developmentally disabled adults, OR, an Associate's Degree in Human Services or related field and at least two years' experience with developmentally disabled adults, OR a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field with at least one year experience providing service to people with developmental disabilities is preferred. LPN or RN license may be substituted for Associates Degree. A minimum of one-year supervisory experience, with excellent supervision skills, is required Valid NYS drivers license with a safe driving record per agency policy: use of personal vehicle is required Reporting Responsibilities: Reports to: Coordinator of Residential Services Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises: ARM, MAC, Direct Support Staff Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills Knowledge of Microsoft computer programs and general office equipment. Ability to relate to people of different abilities and backgrounds Ability to work independently, as well as in teams Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally
