Purpose: As a Facility Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for repair and maintenance work at the distribution center, completing work at our Morris or Ashley furniture showroom locations, or partnering with contractors to have work completed. This position is based out of the warehouse, however, travel to the showrooms to complete work orders will be required. Our store locations are in Cincinnati, Florence, Dayton, and Columbus. General Description of Duties: Certifications are not required, however some experience with Electrical, Plumbing, Painting, and Carpentry is preferred. Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools, high pressure washers. Move furniture, equipment, supplies and tools on an as needed basis. Perform cleaning and related activities such as removing snow or debris from sidewalks and using hand-operated tools or small power equipment. Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, etc. Be able to climb ladders. Operate different types of lifts or be willing to learn. Be mechanically inclined and willing to learn to use new tools and equipment. Perform skills including, but not limited to, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and facilities. Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas. Qualifications: Well versed in inspecting premise and building Track record of finishing assigned tasks effectively within limited time Requirements: High School Diploma or Equivalent Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously Outstanding customer service skills Ability to work effectively individually and with a team, self-directed Able to operate a two-way radio Ability to follow oral and written instructions Strong interpersonal skills, memory, attention to detail, able to follow directions, comprehension, calculating, reading, writing, speaking, evaluating, mathematics, organizing and innovation required.
