Big C Lumber is currently seeking a full-time Window and Door Installation Apprentice for our Mishawaka Window and Door facility. The ideal candidate is motivated, reliable, and willing to learn. Big C offers opportunities for growth with the potential to lead an install team in the future. Must be available to work full time. Position Summary: Prep openings and install windows and exterior doors in new construction Climbing ladders and lifting windows Abide by OSHA Construction safety standards including fall protection requirements Conscientious with a focus on safety and quality Window and Door Installer Essential Responsibilities: #1 priority is to ensure customer satisfaction while never compromising safety Use general construction hand and power tools Handle routine maintenance and upkeep of equipment Understand basic construction and window and door installation specifications Meet quality standards and schedule deadlines Demonstrate use of good judgment Ensure work area is clean, safe, and well-organized Assist other employees as needed with their jobs Communicate clearly, accurately, and effectively with employees, management, customers, and suppliers Perform any special assignment/projects as required by the general manager Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to routinely lift, carry, and move 100lbs Self-motivation Basic math skills Ability to sit/stand for long periods of time Ability to work with minimal supervision when required Ability to withstand exposure to harsh weather conditions Ability to coordinate as well as work in a team Possess a positive attitude
